Get Normal Blood Glucose Levels in Four Stress-less, Diabetically-Proven Steps

If you have type 2 diabetes you can get normal blood glucose levels in a matter of days. By combining just 4 almost-forgotten, underrated, but time-tested and proven principles, anyone can safely lower and stabilize their blood glucose level. If you are willing to make a "superbowl" type effort you will be surprised at the results.

The four-step process that I describe here has leveled my hemoglobin A1c to 5.2% and helped me maintain a total cholesterol level of under 140 for over 3 years. This has eliminated my need for prescription medication to control my diabetes. It starts by changing the diet. Customize your own anti-diabetes diet to exclude saturated fats, and eliminate refined carbohydrates – such as white bread, white rice, and other white flour products. Simultaneously replace the refined carbs with high fiber complex carbohydrates – such as 100% wholewheat bread, wheat bran cereal, tubers, and lots of vegetables.

The second step for having normal blood glucose levels is regular exercise. Yes, you’ve heard all this before. But this is not your fancy gym workout. Note that even if you are physically challenged – if you are a baby boomer, or even the parent of a boomer you can challenge your insulin insensitive muscles to start pulling glucose efficiently again. If you are under 50 years old, your exercise stimulus will work even faster.

Target the big muscles. If you are mobile, all you may need to do is walk. I trusted my health educator when he told me to walk for 1 hour every morning, 7 days per week. This made a big impact in helping my body burn glucose again. Do a combination of aerobic (e.g. walking), strengthening (e.g. squats and arm curls), and flexibility (e.g. stretching) exercises. Don’t expect this to work like taking pills – your body takes time to adjust to your routine, but the #1 rule is to BE CONSISTENT.

Your quest for normal blood glucose levels must involve rest – the third step. Not only is the amount of sleep important, but the time when you sleep is very important as well. My research on this topic showed that sleep deprivation or improper sleep was a major factor leading to my onset of type 2 diabetes. The time and quality of sleep is optimized by paying attention to your circadian rhythm. THe body knows when it is night – regardless of whether or not we are in well lit areas. Researchers tell us that the best time to go to sleep is at least 2 hours before midnight. Try this for 3 months while you follow the other steps given in this article. Surprise yourself – it works.

The last step is really for acceleration of the healing process. I call this supplementation. I added milagro de la selva tea to my diet – one cup of this natural diabetes tea 30 minutes before each meal (3 times per day). After about 10 days, I noticed my blood glucose readings were lower and I had to cut back on medication. Also, you may quickly find that you do not really need a snack. My dietitian had put me on a diet of 3 meals and 3 snacks per day. Shortly after I started my anti-diabetes diet and lifestyle makeover, I found out 2 things: (1) I did not need to snack, and (2) my medication started giving hypos. My doctor had to decrease my medication until now I do not need to take any.

Note that all four steps – an anti-diabetes diet, regular exercise, proper rest, and supplementation – are done SIMULTANEOUSLY. Many people make the mistake of only cutting back on certain foods instead of cutting out those foods. Some change their diet but see exercise as optional. It is not. Neither is sleep.

The American Diabetes Association notes in their publication Diabetes A to Z, that "the cause of diabetes is unknown, but there are things you can do to treat yourself." As a diabetic, I have tested, proven, and listed four such things that I know will cause type 2 diabetics to have normal blood glucose levels.
